Please post the exact wording of the error you receive.
The error in rstrui.exe means that the restore data are corrupted. To correct this go to Start|Control Panel|System|System Restore tab and check "Turn off system restore on all drives." Reboot and return to tahat tab and uncheck the item. This will reenable system restore. You will lose your restore points, but they could not be used anyway.
You can replace any missing or corrupted system files by going to Start|Run, typing
sfc /scannow and clicking OK. For the sound problem, reinstalling your sound card drivers should resolve the issue. You can find instructions for this through the
