processor constantly going even when computer is idle..

so, it's really starting to bug me, as i've noticed that, when idle at desktop, my processor is doing tasks.. when nothing is running.. the only thing running is task manager.

when i view the performance, and look at processor usage, i'm at 75% idle...

normally this should be about 94-99%..

i keep checking, and the only thing is see is my  antilmalware process jump from 0 to 35 every few seconds. yes it is legit.  it was downloaded and installed from the legit Microsoft website.

other than that, it's always stayed very unused..

please help. i've already tried deleting some things to try to improve performance.

processor: Intel core (R) i3 CPU  M350 @ 2.27GHz  2.26GHz

ram : 4.00 GB (3.80 GB usable)

it is a 64-bit OS.

C: 133 GB /465 GB (333 Gb free)

external hard drive E: 1.1TB / 1.81 TB (704 GB free) (note: main drive backup is on this hard drive.)

i do have razer game booster installed. (4.2.45.0)

soo... help?

Ignore the running applications list in the task manager, look at the processes list instead to see what is using resources. As an example my system has fourteen items in the application list but there are 138 active processes. Seventy-five percent idle seems reasonable to me. Mine is about ninety percent idle, however I have two quad core processors, which means I have eight processes running simultaneously.

i never mentioned running applications.

as i did say

THE ONLY THING RUNNING WAS TASK MANAGER

so in my case that list would be 0.

i NEVER leave programs open.

i always run with 1-5, never more than that.

i usually have around 70-75 active processes.

normally with only task manager running I SHOULD be at 5% cpu, but instead i'm at this 25%
