This is a known problem (although it hasn't been reported lately). Apparently there were a number of XP Home CDs mislabeled as XP Professional. Dell should replace the CD without a complaint.
Thank you all for the responses. I had purchased XP Pro. I chatted with Tech support just now after your response and they promised to ship me an XP Pro CD right away.
When I spoke to software support earlier regarding this problem, they told me that I only had hardware support warranty and will have to pay for software support and I was at my wit's end...
I will update this message thread with the resolution when I hopefully get the proper CD from Dell.
