slow operations on XP and browser
Any tips on what might be done besides disk defragmenting, diskcleaning, and deleting spyware to keep the system operating at a decent speed? Which of the above is most important? - thanks, Paul

Defragging and disc cleaning can be set up as needed(depending how often you add/remove, so forth)Depends on your pc habits. As far as spy/malware, be sure and have at the VERY LEAST, these programs:
AdAware:
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/
SpyBot Search & Destroy:
http://www.safer-networking.org/
SpyWare Blaster & SpyWare Guard, both here:

DL and install all of the above, check for updates, then scan. Remove items discovered and identified as ad/mal/spyware.
And of course, be sure and have a decent A/V and firewall installed.
Good luck, and remember........................You can NEVER be OVER PROTECTED!
