Run MSCONFIG, and write down all of the items listed. Post back with your list. Let me know if you see an item called DMIStart.

Ok, your list seems pretty trimmed down. That's not it.

Do a Google search for:

VWIN32 000012D0

These are the relevant parameters. There seem to be a number of thid party programs that have a conflict with ME and IE. You may see something that looks like yours.

Thanks for the reply; I did a Google search prior to posting here, but used the full error message parameters, will try your suggestions, and post back.

I have been unable to come up with any answers to this problem.  However, I e-mailed the software maker, and thay cnae up with an update that stopped that problem.  Now if I could only get the program to work without having to uninstall and reinstall every time I use it, it would be so much better.  But at least now, I can use the program without being interrupted.

Just got a new Optiplex w/XP Pro, and have not tried to install Abander TagControl on the new PC yet.  Hoping the XP will do better than Win-Me, and I stop destroying hard drives, and stop having other problems.
