system configuration utility problem

Hi,         I,m trying to remove some programs in the 'system configuration utility' startup menu. After some checkmarks are removed I restart the pc and then this message appear 'You have used the System Configuration Utility to make changes to the way Windows starts. The System Configuration Utility is currently in Diagnostic or Selective Startup mode, causing this message to be displayed and the utility to run every time Windows starts. Choose the normal Startup mode on the General tab to start Windows normally and undo the changes you made using the System Configuration Utility' and the 'system configuration utility reappears.    What is the solution for this problem, how can I select the programs I want.   I run windows xp and I have a small home network two pc's.   Thank's             Guy

guylandry,

That message has a box that tells Windows not to display the warning in the future. You already know you are using selective startup, so simply check that box and Windows won't nag you any more.
