I have 2 questions:  How do you reteive a checkpoint if it isn't there. When i go into the system restore to pick a day i want to restore back to it isn't there. when i get to the calender it is on todays date but when i press the arrows on top it won't go to Sept ot futher back.  Did i lose the past restart points.

Did you run the application recovery? If you did , you lost your restart points.

If you have ever decided to turn off "System Restore" at one point or another you will have also lost your old points! System restore can be your best friend or your worst enemy! It's great if you start making restore points on a clean virus free system and keep it clean! BUT!!!!!!! What if you start having problems due to a virus and choose to revert back to an earlier point? How long have you had the virus?????? Are all your system restore points able to be trusted?? I'm not saying you have a virus but you get my drift about using "System Restore"!
