system restore not working
I tried to do a system restore, it will not go back to any previous months, just the day before. Any suggestions on what I can do? Not sure if I have a problem with pc or not, ran virus scan, defragmanted hard drive and still can't do a restore to previous month. Have done a system restore several months ago.

The most common cause of this problem is a corrupted restore database. You can clear it by disabling system restore (Start|Control Panel|System|Sytem Restore tab) and rebooting, then returning to that tab and enabling restore again. Unfortunately, this removes all existing restore points, but since you can't access them their loss is not serious.

Go to Start|Run and enter this command:
sfc /scannow (note space)
This may fix your SR but it is highly unlikely you will be able to go back further than 1 day. It may however fix the problem you're attempting to fix with SR. After running the SFC and SR still doesn't work properly you should disable SR, reboot, and enable it again.
