this program has performed an illegal operation...whenever I click on internet or windows explorer
I have been unable to use internet explorer or access my drives for over a week! Whenever I click on Internet/Windows Explorer or My Computer to access A, C, or D drives, I get the following error message:
This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.
When I click on details, I get:
EXPLORER caused an invalid page fault in
module VX2.DLL at 0167:01f3eeea.

I'm VERY frustrated and have searched everywhere for a possible solution. I reinstalled IE, too with no luck. BTW I can get to the Internet via Netscape, but do not have access to my hard drive because it is somehow connected with Explorer! CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME!

Sounds like spyware/trojans have gotten on your computer. Do you have software to remove it installed? If so, update the software and run it. Here is a quick scan, and additional information. Good luck.

I downloaded Spybot and ran the program....and it worked! I can use Internet Explorer and click on My Computer and get to my A, C & D drives! Thank you again!
