windows easy transfer error message
Trying to transfer files between old winxp Dell and my new win7 Dell. I thought it would be easy to do it this way. The two computers are connected on my network.
With Windows Easy Transfer started, I reach the window that says "Check for compatibility" when I then receive the error message, "Windows Easy Transfer is unable to continue. Please reboot the computer and try again" I have rebooted both, it doesn't do anything. I have searched for an answer on google but haven't found an answer to my problem. Old computer is Dimension 8400 with winXP sp3, new computer XPS 8000 with win7.

I am having the same exact problem, except I am transferring from a Vista platform that is only 2 1/2 years old. Did you find any help for this anywhere?
