windows xp wont start
when i go to start my computer it starts and the dell window opens then the screen just goes black

Post your model computer when asking a question. Try booting to your XP disk and doing a Repair. You should run the Hardware Diagnostics including the extended Hard Drive test.

I got it to reboot to the repair dics but when it restarted it went back to the black screen, I am running the hardware test now
