from what I have seen in this forum about the newer systems coming without the disks, I think it would be wise to invest 10 bucks or what they charge now to get the disks together with the system. There are only few machines which never need a reinstall during their lifetime, and your alternative is go begging Dell for the disks when you need them (which may or may not give the desired result).

It is a question of principle and I do not approve Dell shipping their systems without at least the CDs allowing you to reinstall your OS and drivers. But you can avoid yourself a lot of hassle...

My system came with the CDs (2 years ago), and I needed them at least 20 times during the 1st year, until I got a stable system.

They make the politics, but it's your choice!
