Hello Hedgecock, Inspiron™ N7110 / 17R system has a feature of "Disabling the Touchpad" on the F3 key. The touch-pad on this system comes with a touch-pad status LED. If the LED is lit, it indicates the touch-pad is disabled. The combination keys of FN+F3 helps us to toggle to enable/disable the touch-pad.
