We have the same problem since upgrade from View 5.0.1 to View 5.1. This is purely a PocketCloud problem. The View clients for Windows and Mac using RDP protocol work without issue going through the security server. PocketCloud works if you aren't being tunneled through the security server. If your iPad connects to the View connection server from an internal network, it works. Coming through a security server with tunneling enabled, it does not.
My apologies for the inconvenience, I assure you we are working on it. We are currently in development of a maintenance release that will support 5.1. Hopefully we can get it out soon.
I just bought this software so I could use my iPhone (hardware 4, software iOS 5.1.1) to connect to our new View 5.1 environment (security server with public SSL cert), which has both VDIs and physical machines accessible. The iPad VMWare client works great. I googled around when VMWare didn't have an iPhone app, this one looked good and has great reviews.
But it looks like I'm SOL with 5.1. How will I know when a version comes out that supports 5.1? Do you have an ETA yet? I would highly recommend calling out the lack of support for 5.1 on the App description in the store.
My apologies again for the inconvenience and thank you for the feedback. We do specify the specific supported versions of VMWare View in the description in the App Store, but I will see about adding a note about 5.1.
Unfortunately I still do not have a ETA on when the update will be available. When it is available, you will be notified from the App Store like all other apps when a updates are available.

Make sure that View is setup to accept RDP connections. PocketCloud does not support PCoIP at this time.
