2012 RDSH + WTOS 8.0 USB redirection; webcam detected but not working in skype

2012 RDSH + WTOS 8.0 USB redirection; webcam detected but not working in skype

Testing 2012 TS connecting via WTOS 8.0. Logitech 9000 Pro is detected by windows, and even by skype, but no video is displayed on the terminal server.

If a video call is made to a remote user, they are able to see the video coming from the Logitech connected to the WTOS 8.0 client, but there is no audio.

The TS2012 side cannot see video from either caller in skype, however the remote user's audio comes through fine.

We've been unable to get a Logitech C510 to be recognized on server 2012 or server 2008 using rfx. Client recognizes the device and can display a video stream from peripherals->preview, but OS doesn't see anything attached. Did you find a configuration that needs to be set for this?

If you wanna use RemoteFX USB redirection(Audio, video), you need setup WTOS like this:
Global Connection Settings-Session, uncheck "Exclude audio devices", "Exclude video devices" checkboxes
Global Connection Settings-RDP, check "Enable RemoteFX", select "RDP USB" as USB Device Redirection Type
Edit your connection properties-Options, Select "USB" as Auto-connect to local devices, if you wannd use redirected Audio, you also need select "Play on remote computer" as RDP Audio Playback.

Tried with windows remote desktop to redirect Logitech 9000 Pro to server 2012, has the same problem as WTOS terminal, both stuck at loading camare preview. I will follow up this with DEV to check if there is something we can do to improve this.
If you wanna use the redirected audio, you also need to edit the RPD property-Options and select "Play on remote computrer" as RDP Audio Playback.

Yes, using Play locally + Record from local I was able to confirm that sound and mic feeds work with using a 3.5 mic instead of the built-in usb camera one.

Are you able to get audio using an analog microphone plugged into the R10L? i know thats not a solution, but at least would tell us if the audio path is working as expected.

So close...With that info I was able to get as far as DPetropolis did.

Using "Play on remote computer" the mic input is recognized, but then no audio playback device is found. Microsoft Lync is not happy when it doesn't have any speakers or mic and cancels video conversations, so we couldn't test sound.
Using "Play locally" and "Record from local" both the audio playback and mic are recognized, but the mic doesn't pick up any sound. However with these options we were able to get a video feed working across Lync.

some problems with Logitech C510 are not easy to solve, even trying some ways: The Logitech Vid HD icon will be present only if you choose to install Logitech Vid HD. For information about third-party video calling, please visit::www.logitech.com/webcam_howt.
