Problems with charging iPhone on Wyse T10

Problems with charging iPhone on Wyse T10

Hi

We are implementing a VDI infrastructure in our company depending on Hyper V with Citrix provisioning. Users will get Wyse T10 clients connecting to their VDI desktops.

Now we got the problems that we are not able to charge iPhone or iPad on USB ports. We tested the same Windows 7 image and the same ThinClient settings on different Wyse R10 clients and charging the devices worked without any issues. The iPhone was recognized on Windows and everything worked.

Is anyone out there witch similar issues? Is there a less power situation on T10 ThinClients?

Thanks for your help.
Martin

Charging Smartphones from a T10 thin client is NOT recommended and will void your warranty. Use the charger included with your smartphone instead. The USB ports are for data use only.

Problems with charging iPhone on Wyse T10

We use Wyse T10's and have found that charging any phone from the USB ports can overload the power supply and stop mouse/keyboard from working. As they only have a 12V supply to the terminal's it's not surprising that they can easily be overloaded. Our advice to staff is don't charge from the terminals charge phones from mains sockets.

We're having this issue as well with some users, i contacted Wyse Support and was told there was nothing that could be done about it. Is there not a parameter that can be created to disable the front 2 ports so people can't do it? That only leaves the Mouse and Keyboard ports which they can't really use if they want to do anything!!
