Cannot log into 8300
I was away on vacation and apparently Windows had an update while I was gone. Now I get to the screensaver page upon powering up with the clock in the lower left. However it appears the computer will not recognize my mouse/keyboard. Mine are USB, wireless. I tried a Dell wired usb a neighbor had, no dice still. I've rebooted a hundred times it seems. MS support is saying with the latest update my drivers may have been corrupted and the 8300 is not a supported model. I really need to get into my computer. The only option MS gave me is to do a fresh install of Windows by making a bootable disc. Seems rather drastic for a mouse/keyboard not being recognized. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I work for myself and this is my work computer. Thank you!

What version of Windows are you running? Have you tried connecting the keyboard and mouse to other USB connections even the ones on the front of the computer?

Do you know if this is hardware or software?
If you reboot and immediately tap F2 (or F12) does the PC open BIOS setup (or the boot menu)? Assuming that works, this could be the MS update KB4515384 which breaks all kinds of things including USB connections on some PCs. Read about it here.
If there's no response to tapping F2 (or F12) at boot, try clearing BIOS:

If you interrupt the normal boot process of Windows 10 three times in a row, on the fourth time Windows 10 will enter the Automatic Repair mode by default. One of the Advanced options is 'System Restore' and another is 'Go back to the previous version'. See #2 in this document: https://www.digitalcitizen.life/4-ways-boot-safe-mode-windows-10

Come to think of it, this might be caused by last week's botched Win 10 update KB4515384 which can break USB connections, amongst a list of other issues.
The work-around has been to uninstall that update, but don't know how you'd do that if the USB keyboard/mouse aren't working.
