Dell 8930 will not connect to internet with Bitdefender VPN

I just bought a Dell 8930; Intel i7-9700; RTX 2060 6 gb; Win 10 64 bit and immediately ran into an issue trying to run Bitdefender VPN Premium.

I had no problem running Bitdefender VPN on my old HP Desktop and it still works fine on my Asus laptop.  I am hard-wired to my router and the internet signal is strong (6ms ping, 31 MB/s download, 12 MB/s upload).  When I connect to VPN I get the message "no internet access".  As I said above, I haven't experienced this until I tried connecting with this new computer so I think it must be a setting somewhere.  I have tried all of the Bitdefender suggestions (https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/answer/11311/) to fix this issue with no success so thought I'd turn to this community to see if anyone else has experienced similar issues and could share a solution.

Much appreciated!

Solution Found through Bitdefender Support:

The issue seems to be caused by "Advanced Stream Detect" from the Killer Control Center software installed on this machine.

We recommend you to disable this option:   here

I didn't uninstall the software.  Instead I poked around in the Killer Control Center 'settings' and I turned the 'Killer Prioritization engine' off.

Now Bitdefender VPN works!!

Question: Would I be better off simply uninstalling this software completely as they recommend?  I just don't want to mess anything up.

Thanks.

Since its not a clean install the default MCAFEE will likely prevent this from EVER working.

Remove using the McAfee Consumer Product Removal tool (MCPR)

IMPORTANT:

  • Always download a new copy of MCPR before each use.
This ensures that you have the latest version, and that newer McAfee products can be successfully recognized.

http://us.mcafee.com/apps/supporttools/mcpr/mcpr.asp

  • At the McAfee Software Removal screen:
    1. Click Next
    2. Click Agree to accept the End User License Agreement (EULA).

  • At the Security Validation screen:
    1. Type the characters exactly as shown on your screen. Validation is case-sensitive.
    2. Click Next. This step prevents the accidental use of MCPR.

Thanks.  I did uninstall McAfee when I first booted up the new machine.  Then installed Bitdefender as I have a subscription.  I'll look for any residual programs and try your link.

I ran the McAfee removal software and restarted but the problem is still there.

However, I just discovered something.  When I disconnect my LAN cable and use the built-in wireless card, Bitdefender VPN connects to the internet no problem (I'm using it right now).  Seems to be an issue when hard-wired.  Any ideas why this would happen with the Dell 8930 machine and not my old HP machine?  Is there a hardware setting somewhere that is stopping VPN from accessing the internet when hard-wired?

Thanks.
