Dell Update app not finding any new updates

Is anyone having an issue with the Dell Update app running manual checks okay, but upon completion hasn't been finding any new updates? I have Dell Update vers 3.1.1 on my new XPS 8930 desktop, and it appears to be scanning okay when I initiate a manual scan, but it hasn't found any updates since 2-25-2020. I'm not getting any error messages when it runs the check-(usually 1-2 minutes run time to complete), but it hasn't found any new updates for awhile now, and upon completion it advises "your system is up to date". I ran this app for the first time about 2 days after I first booted up the computer for the 1st time-(2-20-2020). DU ran the check at that time and it located 4 updates-(2 listed as urgent), and two were listed as recommended. I went ahead and installed all 4 successfully. I noticed when I open the DU app, the app window displays "Last Check", which so far always says "Never", and "last update" shows a date of 2-25-2020 displayed. I don't recall what update that was on that date, possibly this was done automatically, as so far I've only used the DU app once myself manually, on 2-20-2020. I did a number of Windows Updates within the 1st several days after this pc's initial bootup, all of which downloaded and installed successfully. I realize since I've updated both Windows and DU there may be no current updates available presently and I'm all caught up, but I'm wondering if it's working right. I've been reading a number of topics posted in this community forum pertaining to issues with Dell Update causing issues. I'm running Windows 10, vers; 10.0.18363/build 18363, 64 bit. I went to this websites' Drivers and Downloads page, entered my service tag for my 8930, and it listed approximately 17 updates available, although after checking the list from the DU app provides of drivers checked, it appears most of those 17 listed on this site appeared to be already updated, according to their version numbers. So far I haven't had any other problems associated with DU so far, but I'd like to get this figured out. Any help would be appreciated!!!!

Best suggestion I can give you is not to rely on this program.  Manually check for "Needed" updates and manually download and install them.  This is important especially for any BIOS update as we have seen "bricked" computers because of using the updater program.

here is my OPINION

  1.  the worlds best PC has no need for updates, no really,  did you buy weak junky PC? do tell?(we all did)
  2. the OS is the big issue ,  endless EXPLOITS so is JUNK,  we all know that, and is.. endless. but why?
  3. The drivers that work perfect why do you need, new drivers when perfect now.. why? sure line 2. above.
  4. do you need daily BIOS flashing,? then you have bricked PC is that fun for you, ?

the prefect PC is one with only ROM,  and will never be exploited. nor infected, ROM can not be written..

but will never happen with new W10 every 6 months, ever..

we do have 1  solution, run the OS as an image,  from Linux VT. Virtual machines so every day is new PC.

see/? there are lots of choices with VT, not  one. some are RAD HARD..

Paranoia, is sometimes justified..  for sure;. (but w10-64bit behind a harware fire wall (and SW) is very safe.. now the 64bit kernal is very good.. vastly more than 32bit

I only let MS upgrade my OS, for 5 long years and not one problem ever... here. zero . (but   drivers NO !)

2015-07-29 , v1507 to v1909.

see this and if worries are justified,

W10 is very good,  OOBE, fresh loaded, do nothing safe.

do not read email links are attachments unless say (person.jpg) photo , make sure you can see extensions in the filenames if not learn to fix that first..

do not download EXE file off the web unless Virustotal.com shows it as safe...

run malwarebytes, and if it blocks a site don;t go there...!!!

if you run Firefox v74 up,  it too blocks bad sites..  all this is good.

Thanks a lot, I was beginning to think that's what I should do-(do manual updates off their website direct) rather than use their dell update or support assist apps. I don't feel like dealing with a poor AI construct when inquiring about support issues. This is my 4th Dell desktop purchase and I'm shocked how much their OS is experiencing software and customer support issues.

Hello, I have the same PC, the same version of Dell Update, and the same issue...

My suggestion would be to use the Dell Support Assist on the web to check, and just accept for now that this app in its current version does not work.
