XPS 8930, Intel 17.11.3.1010 install?

Been in the Smokies for the last week and just got back home this afternoon.  When I booted my 8930 I had a notification that my computer needed to reboot to install Intel Extension 17.11.3.1010  After some searching online it seems it is a security update.  Anybody installed this or had any problems with it.  I guess I am stuck with installing it, as it seems it is going to install the next time I reboot.  BTW, computer was off the entire week and the update was not showing up when I last shut it down.  BTW, I am all for security updates from Intel, but "sometimes" bad things happen...just checking for info ahead of time. TIA.

It is update driver for Intel Rapid Storage Technology.  Beside addressing CVE, the update contains critical bug fixes and changes to improve functionality, reliability, and stability of your Dell system.

I ran this update.  After restart, system is running well as normal.  It's safe to install.

Yeah showed up for me today as well. Was not in optional updates, was pushed through WU today when I turned pc on. Have not noticed any issues at restart either on my XPS 8930.

Thanks for the replies.  Yes, I left my 8930 on after going to bed and it installed it with no problems.  I did some more reading on it and decided it was a needed security update, and let it install during the early morning inactive time on my 8930. Thanks for the replies though.

Bonjour,

Merci !

@mfurr  - This is second Extension 17.11.3.1010 update for RST from Intel in last 2 months.  Wish they'd get their act together...

Hello Personally, since the update, my internet upload has gone from 55 Mbps to less than 1 Mbps which prevents me from working properly. I had this problem in February 2023 after updating Killer Ethernet perfomance driver suite UWD. Dell replaced my trump card thinking my upload problem was hardware when it was software. This week, I uninstalled this Killer Ethernet perfomance driver suite UWD software and my upload came back normal. There, we install this update from Intel and my upload no longer works! How do I uninstall this update and make sure it doesn't automatically reinstall?

I updated my XPS 8930 (Win 10 22H2) with Intel Extension 17.11.3.1010 last night. Just tested my Ethernet speed after reading your post but I don't see any change in speeds:
Download: 49.48 Mbps
Upload: 49.22 Mbps

There was another Killer update recently that also affects Ethernet speeds on XPS 8930. Is it possible you got both updates at same time?

Suggest you go to Start>Run>services.msc. When that opens, make sure the Startup type for all Killer services is set to Disabled. Exit services.msc, reboot and check your speeds again.
