According to crucial.com, the XPS 8700 uses DDR3 memory, so I don't think DDR4 memory from your Aurora is going to work.

As usual, @Vic384 typed faster than I did, but at least we agree...
Short answer: NO
The Aurora R7 uses DDR4 RAM but the XPS 8700 uses DDR3 RAM. So the XPS 8700 ain't gonna boot with DDR 4 RAM installed.

I am surprised that @RoHe did not answer faster since I had to research what type of memory the XPS 8700 uses.
