Studio XPS 8100, 4 beep error code, NOT memory module

Question

I am having the blinking amber light with 4 beeps when attempting to boot. I know that four beeps is supposed to equal memory read/write failures but that is absolutely not what the problem is, as I have tested my ram in another pc and it worked and tried other verified working memory inside my pc, which then beeped four times, again. With all ram removed, it gives 2 beeps. I have tried clearing CMOS, unplugged/disconnected everything. I am 'sure' that the CMOS was cleared but it didn't help with booting. I should say I am a network engineer and I have gone through 'all' of the 'standard' potential fixes for the 4 beeps, but nothing has helped. The reason nothing has helped is incredibly frustrating. So, I want to be very clear. The four beep error code, by Dell, is NOT necessarily accurate or helpful, as the error seems to originate from the motherboard, since all memory modules work fine in other pc's. So there really IS NO help, from Dell, on white paper, cause Dell doesn't even acknowledge that 4 beeps could be caused by a motherboard issue, it only specifies faulty ram. The blinking amber light is also occurring with the four beeps, while the beep codes state that the amber blinking is a three beep thing. I am not the only one who has had this exact thing happen with the exact same model, the XPS Studio 8100. As far as I could tell there have not been any winning answers on how to fix this situation

The Studio XPS 8100 is nine years old. Replace the 3v CR 2032 CMOS battery (page 14). Then retest.

Blinking Amber = System fails to complete POST. Remove and reseat every internal card and cable. Then retest.

Thank you Chris I also suspected it was CMOS error, I saw this discussion and was at first worried because switching the CMOS battery alone was not working, so I reseated memory modules and unplugged and reconnected cables to hard drive etc and that worked!

Four beeps can also mean RAM on the video card, rather than RAM on the motherboard itself.

So reseat the video card in it's slot. And if that doesn't help, physically remove the add-in video card and see if using the onboard HDMI port helps. (Onboard video ports are disabled when an add-in card is installed.)

Or if you have a spare video card, swap the spare one into the XPS 8100 and see if that helps...
