XPS 8300, upgrade CPU help
i have a dell xps 8300 desktop with an Intel core i5-2300 CPU @ 2.80Ghz and i want to upgrade to an Intel Core i7-4790 3.6 GHz so i can play online games better and i want to know what kind of motherboard i should get and if it will fit in my case. i think my tower type would be called a mini tower as it is roughly 15 inches tall.

If you are considering a NEW Motherboard & a NEW CPU, then I would NOT suggest that you stay with the Dell Proprietary Case!
Go for a total New-Build instead!

i thought as much. it would be about the same price and easier.
