XPS 8700 - WIFI upgrade to INTEL AC-7260

Intel wireless card AC-7260worked ok w W10. But now I’ve reverted to W 7, PC can’t find it, so I have no internet. Any ideas, please?

Did you previously run Win 7 on this PC and did this WiFi card work with Win 7? Or is this first time you're running Win 7 here?

Did you install the chipset drivers after loading Win 7: Z87 chipset driver, AMT HECI driver and USB3.0 xHCl driver from the support page? (Be sure to select the correct OS before downloading any drivers!) Some drivers won't install or won't run if the chipset drivers weren't the first drivers installed after loading the OS.

You do need a Win 7-compatible driver for the AC-7260 WiFi card but it looks like Dell only supports that AC-7260 card with Win 10. You can go to the Intel download site and see if you can find a Win 7 driver for the AC-7260. They have a tool that can scan your hardware and look for drivers, though it's possible this card can't work with Win 7...
