Maybe check to see if there are optional drivers in Windows Update. You could also try a 3rd party driver utility like snappy driver . I would use the full download let it download all the drivers it will be large about 25 GB.
I read the Microsoft link in detail and it led to a further Microsoft link which was more relevant to my situation. But none of the suggested solutions fit exactly to my issue. Nevertheless I tried them all (to a greater or lesser extend).
- I cannot run the Bluetooth troubleshooter because my computer does not "know" that I have a bluetooth device.
- I cannot install the "latest" drivers from the manufacturer because Dell does not offer a driver for my system and instead referred me to Microsoft who referred me to Dell. Yes, I'm piggy in the middle.
- I cannot uninstall the Bluetooth device but I did uninstall the Unknown Device. It was found again on the scan and is still an unknown device.
So that kinda leaves me with no progress on this issue. Sorry. I sure could do with a pointer to a DELL driver for the Bluetooth device which is physically part of the Intel 6245 WiFi adapter. The Wifi itself appears to work fine when I test it but I usually have it unconnected and use wired Ethernet.
I had, at an earlier stage, gone to Windows Updates without success.
But, your suggestion for "snappy driver" did the trick. It immediately detected that a Bluetooth driver was missing and, after I installed the offered driver, now everything is working.

I am so grateful for your suggestion.
