XPS 8900, GPU/PSU upgrade

I have the default XPS 8900 with 460W PSU, do I need to upgrade PSU, adaptors or anything to work with GTX 1660 Super?

What's the recommended PSU size for the specific card you want?

Does that specific card use a PCI-e power connection (6- or 8-pin) directly from the the PSU? Does your PSU have that connector available?

How long is that card and will it fit in the XPS 8900 case?

Lots of threads on this forum about upgrading the GPU and PSU in the XPS 8900, so read those..

In general your 460W psu is able to support GTX 1660 Super.  Nvidia recommended psu for it is 450W.  It needs an 8 pin connector.  If your psu has two 6 pin you can make an 8 pin out of it.  Regarding size of card one community expert said "Try to find a card that is 4.3” high and you will be fine."

Recommendation is made based on PC configured with an Intel Core i7 3.2 GHz processor. Pre-built system may require less power depending on system configuration.

Hi for those who are planning to upgrade and trying to figure which PSU to us and you need high wattage then try out SuperFlower LeadexV Gold . 1000W . You are all set with any GPU you plan to use. It fit my computer with ton of cables and power options available and I am set for future. The PSU works silently. I wanted to upgrade so I can connect a high powered GPU . No modification needed the size perfectly fits. I could not have asked for a better size. Superflow is also considered very good powersupply

I have now connected to SSD+ 3 other drives, upgraded memory , everything looking good till now
