XPS 8900, SA error code 0151 and stop

I have an XPS 8900 Dell with BIOs 2.0.3 with ePSA build 4302.10 UEFI Rom.

I went to the link //supportassist.dell.com and enter the requested information and it indicated by hard drive has failed.

I would like help to disable the Dell Support Assist from stopping the computer so I can see what is still available on my hard drive.  I have also ordered a replace drive just in case it is really a hard drive failure.

1st)   I would like to disable the Dell Support Assist from occurring so I can boot in a save move to check my drive and see may is available.  I would appreciate any help here.

2nd)  If my hard drive has failed totally and doesn't work, I would appreciate any link you can give me to get the new drive ready to install a new version of window 10 Pro.  Like formatting the new drive to get it ready, instruction links on how to install new copy of the Window 10 Pro, etc.

Any help you can offer is deeply appreciated!!

Thank You

Gary

@70115

Your drive is dead.  Unless you are willing to pay for recovery the data is lost forever.

Reinstall means setting BIOS Sata Operation to AHCI.

Then Set Secure boot OFF and Legacy CSM On.

F12 boot WIN10 DVD and reinstall windows onto ST2000DM008 HDD.

Thank You.

I really don't know if SupportAssist is correct.  I like to see if I can login in DOS mode or any other mode that I can see the directory contain.

Do you know how I can do that???

Thank You,

You cannot boot a dead/failed drive. It must be replaced with the new hard drive.

This is why you should have backups of your personal files.

How about the answers to the 2nd part of my question.

Having accepted the Hard drive is dead, what procedure I need to follow to get a new drive formatted and new Win 10 Pro installed.

Thank You,

Gary
