XPS 8900, Windows 10, TPM causing BSOD memory error
Hello,
For quite some time, after Windows 10 updates and tries to reboot, I get repeated BSOD with memory errors. After troubleshooting for awhile I noticed (in device manager) and error with Trusted Platform Module 2.0. Upon further research I learnt that the 2.0 version is not compatible with this computer since it uses Legacy Boot not UEFI.
It seems the way to fix this issue and prevent the BSOD is to downgrade TPM to version 1.2. I have found some documentation on this, but it seems the solutions I found are not compatible with the XPS 8900.
Can someone assist? Is there a TPM 1.2 module available? What is the process to do the downgrade? Can I just turn TPM off and be OK?
Any assistance would be most appreciated.
Thanks!
