XPS 8900, will not boot
My xps 8900 wont boot. The Dell logo doesn't even appear on the screen. This started suddenly. I did not update any apps or install any new hardware recently. Its running windows 10 fully updated. I turned off the PC this morning normally and when I got back home I tried to turn it on and this happened.
The dell logo never shows up. The fans and hard drive sounds start up and there is no beeping or anything. Nothing shows up on the screen. I have to long press the power button to turn it off again then after a few seconds it powers back on itself. So long as its plugged in it turns on without me pushing the power button now.
I tried removing the video card and use the onboard HDMI port and same issue.
I tried resetting the ram sims in its bays and same issue.
I tried unplugging some of the hard drives and same issue ( I have 4 hard drives installed)
I tried plugging the PC directly into the wall outlet instead of the UPS samen issue
Can you help me please?

So I solved the issue if anyone is interested. These symptoms appear when the ram dims are not set properly I think.
I removed all the ram dimms and reinserted them and it worked!

Can you get into the bios? Is your monitor turned on ? Do you have another monitor to try ?

Thanks for the reply. I cannot get into bios. Nothing ever comes up on any screen. I have 3 screens that I've tried on rotation. All are on. Tried plugging them into the wall outlet as well instead of into the UPS. I even tried removing the graphics card and using the onboard HDMI port. Any ideas??

Dell has you do that when they are trying to diagnose problems over the phone and I always thought it was a waste of time but I guess there is something to it but I don't know what.

Good work
Once I swapped a new large Corsair PS into my brothers machine. It died after that. I thought I might have just fried the MB.
I went ahead and re-seated the DIMMs because it was one of the only things that hadn't been messed-with during this project.
The machine came back to life. It worked fine for another 5 years.

Hey there, This solved my problem too. I also had a secondary graphics card possibly causing conflicts. One more complication…, I was upgrading to Windows 11, which may have caused conflicts.
1) removed after market graphics card
2) RE-seated memory cards
and then it boots right up, including the Dell logo, no conflicts.many thanks Phikwe!
