I connected my Audioengine A2+ speakers to my XPS 8930 PC using a USB connection to bypass the integrated sound card (the A2+ have a built-in DAC)
AND connected my subwoofer to the #10 port (the "Center/subwoofer LFE surround" port) using a standard mini-jack audio cable.
The A2+ speakers sound great, but there is no sound output from the subwoofer.
For what I can tell ... When using Audioengine A2+ Speaker Set (and it's built-in USB-SoundCard) ... only it's Sound Card is Active. Any additional speakers or Sub-Woofers would have to be connected to the main Audioengine A2+ Speaker (somehow).
I had the same thought and that is why I disconnected the USB and tried again with both the A2+ speakers and the subwoofer connected with minijacks to the audio outputs of the motherboard. Unfortunately, I did not get any sound out through the Center/subwoofer LFE surround" port either.
I was hoping there is some submenu where I can configure the settings to let my PC know what is hooked up.

1. Not all audio files are 5.1 (so, no Center or Sub-Woofer channels).
2. After you are done messing with speakers and audio cards ... you config the speakers in legacy Control-Panel/Sound.
