You should probably start off by telling us what you hope to accomplish with the upgrades or what is it that this computer is lacking. Does this computer have a solid state drive? Why do you need a better graphic card? Do you play games that require high-end graphics? You mentioned the 1080Ti; the power supply will support this card, the XPS 8930 comes with a 460W power supply, the 1080Ti requires 600W whereas the 1050Ti requires 300W.

Hi Vic, thanks for the reply and suggestions. What i hope to achieve is to run AA game titles like mirrors edge at a stable frame rate in medium to high settings. Also I need to use final cut pro and open multiple tabs at the same time and I would really like to lower it's render time. I have the stock pc and have not changed a thing. Doesn't have ssd. Thanks

I am not a gamer but the 1050Ti should be a big improvement over the 1030 and adding additional memory should definitely help.

1050TI 4 Gig is about 2X faster than 1030 2Gig card

that said its not good enough for VR.

For that you need 6 Gig GTX 1060.

Final cut pro is mutually exclusive to games and is for MAC OS not windows.

Adobe Premere PRO is the windows program.  For that the recommend SLI with Quadro P6000 cards aka 2 cards.

Best
Multi-GPU (2x Quadro P6000)
Better
Quadro P5000
Good
Quadro P2000

Ahhh that sounds about right. Right now I'm considering getting a gtx 1060 6gigs with a 32 gb ram 8×4. Will any brand of ddr4 rams work? Also what ssd should i get? I'm really sorry if I sound dumb but coming from a Mac which is pretty much as is, doesn't allow for customizability and now changing to Windows I have to learn. However i do have to note that so far Windows has been great

Thanks All Of You For Commenting! It really helps me alot. For the time being I think I'm gonna get the gtx 1060 6gb first paired with Maybe a 8x4 (32gb) set up. Will that work? Is all ddr4 supported? Also should i consider getting a ssd if so what should I get. Thanks for the help :)

Is all ddr4 supported?
As I stated in my above post, the only Dell "supported" memory are those Dell part numbers. So do a google search for, "dell part Y7N41". Does this mean that 3rd party memory would not work? Unknown. Users will need to buy and test 3rd party memory.

Dell supported SSD in the XPS 8930 =
