XPS 8930, New 9th Gen Model CPU Cooler
I am looking at the new 9th gen model XPS 8930 with i7 9700 and GTX 1660 ti and am curious about the CPU cooler but have been unable to get a definitive answer. Do the 9th gen i7 9700 models all come with the updated blower/heatsink style CPU cooler as pictured on the product page or the older fan style cooler?

Would be a shame if it didn't, as the CPU won't perform up to its potential without one...regardless of the noise level. Having taken a look at the pic, it appears that the system has retained the 95mm fan. Also, there's no fan on the lower-front. Will be interesting what sort of cooling solution Dell offers for it's 1660 ti.

Don't forget to block all holes next to front one it you put one in. I wish I knew what possessed Dell to go backwards on the top fan.

It appears that only the non K version of the 9th gen i7 9700 are available as options in my country. I was hoping someone with one of these could confirm

i've looked everywhere and no one seems to have them. personally, i don't need one. not a gamer, so i doubt i'll ever have a problem. using CPUID HWMonitor, my fan speed idles at 20% (no noise) and CPU temp is 36-40C @30% usage. when CPU is being Dell tested @100% usage, CPU temp is 80-90C and fan is at (ha ha, didn't check).

I honestly doubt that it was as simple as dollars and cents. Rather, I think that they didn't want an XPS that behaved too much like an Aurora air-cooled system. That said, using the upgraded cooler with the 95mm exhaust fan is kinda silly. The shroud on the 95mm doesn't even cover the fins on the HS.

An agent through Dell support chat seemed confident that all new 9th gen processor XPS models come with the updated blower style cooler.

That might be, but I believe that in the past you had to by an 8930SE to get the cooler. However, even those come with the 95mm exhaust fan.

I purchased two of the upgraded CPU coolers directly from Dell. They’re a lot less expensive than typical aftermarket HSF.

how long ago was the purchase? i've checked Dell and all other sources that i could think of and it sure appears that they are not available. i've checked for the fan (KTDJC) and the heatsink (T57JF)..

Really, just this one:
When all was said and done, the dollars went something like this:
XPS 8930 - $700 + Tx Tax
Cooling (HSF/Top Exhaust Fan/Front Intake Fan) - $110 + Tx Tax
Intel 760p NVME M.2 PCI-E SSD - $45
EVGA 1660 Ti - $270 + Tx Tax
Darned video cards cost too much!
Un-overclocked, this is where it will get you:

I got mine 3 days ago. i7 9th gen processor.. and they gave the old CPU cooler.
The fan was hauling while the temp soared to 90C-100C when I played.
