XPS 8930, RAM question
Manual says DDR4 up to 2666. Could I stick DDR4 3200 in there? Would it work? Would I see ANY difference?
Also, I noticed that 48GB is not officially endorsed by Dell, but at least one person said 48 worked-does anyone have any experience going outside the Dell Matrix?

You can install 3200 RAM but it will run at 2666. As for 48 GB of RAM, it should work as this forum post states that the user was using 48 GB successfully. As for a difference, 2666 RAM and 3200 RAM would show a slight difference but you would probably be hard pressed to see the slight difference. I have an i5 10400 with DDR4 3200 installed and it runs at 2666. And to be quite honest I cannot see the difference as to when the RAM was in another system running at 3200.

@KDN82 I would add to what @JOcean wrote and say that if the SPD speed of your DDR4 3200 RAM is 2666 MHz or greater then it will run at 2666 MHz. Some 3200 RAM specs the XMP speed as 3200 but the SPD could be lower and Dell uses the SPD speed. Also, it will only run at 2666 MHz if your CPU is an i5/i7/i7k; it will run at 2400 MHz if the CPU is an i3.
