XPS 8930 booting incredibly slow, gets error code when finally booting
Spoiler
I have a user that cannot boot her XPS 8930 without receiving the attached error message (2000-0723, validation 100237). I ran on-board diagnostics,The but everything checked out fine. The PC also seems to hang on Dell logo during boot which is a recent development. I thought perhaps to try updating the BIOS to ver 1.1.13 (currently on 1.1.3), but any attempt to do so is met with an error stating "AMI BIOS Guard feature disabled". Any help would be immensely appreciated! Thanks!

YEA! Glad to have helped.
For once, Windows Update was actually useful for BIOS updating. Now I suggest you go back into BIOS setup and disable UEFI Capsule Updates to prevent WU from doing any future BIOS updates, which it can do without warning or permission.
Also suggest you enable these two BIOS settings at same time: BIOS Auto-Recovery and Always Perform Integrity Check. NOTE: These 3 options revert to their default settings and have to be changed after every future BIOS update...
Do you really want/need Win 11? Win 10 will be supported until Nov'2025, so there's really no rush to update to Win 11. FWIW, I'm staying with Win 10 on my XPS 8930.
Unfortunately, we haven't heard anything further from @tgarcia619 who started this thread, so we don't know if he's solved his problem...

Whoohoo! Thanks so much Ron. I skipped to your last suggestion since it was simple to check out if 1.1.29 was in the optional list. It was so I gave it the shot. Worked like a dream. Have rebooted and checked the version is correct - it is and everything seems to be working normally. Will give it a few days and then try Windows 11.
Thanks again for your consistent help and expertise. Nice to know there are people out there with experience, knowledge and a willingness to share that.
Best regards

Thanks for the suggestions. I was just starting to ponder which settings to go with. Any thoughts on security aspects. This is just a home system and most of what I see is setting it up for corporate concerns.
Thanks again.

Not sure what you mean "...setting it up for corporate concerns". Dell sold the XPS 8930 primarily as a consumer PC, and security is equally important at home.
I've disabled UEFI Capsule Updates because I don't want Windows Update installing BIOS updates that could permanently brick the motherboard. I've enabled the other two mentioned above. They're related to preventing and/or recovering from a potential BIOS failure.
I've disabled Wake Up by Integrated LAN because I don't want any other device (or hacker) on my home network to wake this XPS 8930. You may want/need that option...
Secure Boot and TPM are enabled (default) for whatever extra security they provide. Both have to be enabled (without hacking the Windows Registry) if you update to Win 11.
Setting BIOS and Windows passwords, if any, is up to you...
