XPS 8930, cannot see POST or get into BIOS

XPS 8930 is booting up into Windows, but does not show the POST screens. I also cannot access the BIOS via F2 or F12. Also, the ctrl+escape does not initiate BIOS recovery. I have removed the coin battery from the motherboard and also moved the jumper to the CMOS and back. Any suggestions?

@ScottM94 If Fast Startup is enabled try disabling it:

Go to All settings / Power & sleep / click on the 'Additional power settings' link / click on 'Choose what the power buttons do' / click on  'Change settings that are currently unavailable' (if necessary) / then uncheck 'Turn on fast startup' under 'Shutdown settings'.

Also see this article for an alternative way to access the BIOS: https://recoverit.wondershare.com/computer-problems/fix-cant-enter-bios-in-windows-10.html

If your boot drive is an SSD, you have to be really fast to tap F2. So power on and immediately start tapping F2.

What type video port on PC are you using and what port on the monitor? Are you powering the monitor on before you power PC on?

If you have an add-in video card, the monitor should be connected to that card, not to one of the onboard Intel UHD Graphics ports.

The BIOS has an option to add 5 or 10 seconds of idle time before proceeding with the boot, specifically to buy some time for use of the F2 or F12 keys.

Had same problem. HDMI cable not connected to Nvidia but to computer. Connected to graphics card directly. Can now boot to BIOS F2 or F12

@fhouston1949 - This worked perfectly in my WIN11 Dell XPS8930. I was raking my brain out, the Dell support was no help but wanted me to get a wired keyboard and tap F2 upon Dell logo. The Dell Logo never appeared until I had tried your solution with putting the HDMI cable NOT in the HTMI computer port - but in the Dell Video Card! Again Thanks as I can sleep tonight. <smile>... :-)

Now, that I can boot to the Bios, I'll have to figure out which BOOT option in the Bios to choose to boot to my newly created Windows USB recovery thumbdrive I create with Windows Creation file. :-)
