I have an XPS 8930 with i7-8700 (not k) and a Z370 mobo that support 2666MHz DDR4. If I want to change its original RAM to VENGEANCE LPX DDR4 2666MHz C16 such as this one:
Those RAMs will run at 2133MHz because they need XMP profile to run at 2666MHz.
My question is how do I turn XMP on in my computer.
I did some research I saw some people mentioning of Intel Extreme Tuning Utility. I looked at Intel website and it looks like the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility is for i7-8700k but not for i7-8700. Am I right?

The XPS 8930 does not have the capability to read the XMP, it only uses the SPD information. Intel's Extreme Tuning Utility can be use for some performance tuning but obviously it cannot overclock a non-K processor. Someone here, https://www.dell.com/community/XPS-Desktops/XPS-8930-Corsair-LPX-DDR4-26-running-at-2133MHz/m-p/6131..., was able to create a custom memory profile for Intel's XPU by overwriting the default settings.
So the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility can be used on computers with non-K processor to tune RAM performance by using a custom memory profile, right?
I have not used Intel's XTU to tune RAM performance but the post I linked to claims you can. I would caution that you proceed with care because XTU is a powerful tool and not try to overclock the CPU.
No I won't try to use XTU to overclock my i7-8700 as the spec clearly says this model of processor is not for overclocking.
I will use XTU to tune RAM performance and will make the result known here.
I can only speculate but I think there are lots of BIOS features that major manufacturers like Asus and Gigabyte include in their BIOS that Dell leaves out to keep things simple and costs down. Also Dell manufactures complete systems so there is no need for a feature like reading the XMP profile when you already have the RAM selected that you are going to use.
That is an interesting link thank you Vic, unfortunately I don't see any options to adjust memory settings when I run Intel XTU.
