XPS 8940, adding second SSD, #3

Hello. I am adding a 2nd SSD to my XPS, specifically SATA III Samsung 2tb. When I ordered my XPS, I originally got 512 gb ssd for main storage, and then a hdd as well. I took the hdd out.

From my understanding - the XPS has 4 SATA ports, two of which are 6 gb/s and the other two are 3 gb/s. SATA III = 6gb/s.

Would I need to get SATA III cords? I assume I shouldn't use my old HDD SATA cord, because it isn't SATA III?

Do you mean the black cable with blue ends?  Read what is written along it.  Mine says SATA 6Gb/s on the cable.

@MickYayger While the specs do not indicate the speed of the SATA ports, the specs indicate that the PC supports drives up to 6 Gbps. I am fairly certain that all the ports are SATA III (6 Gbps). I am basing this assumption on the fact that all the ports on the previous model, the XPS 8930, were SATA III.
