XPS 8940, new RAM random hang
XPS 8940
Hi all,
I have been getting my XPS 8940 randomly hang after installing new 16GB RAM (8GB x 2) Crucial CT8G4DFRA32A.C8FR which Crucial says it's compatible.
The original 16GB RAM (8GB x 2) are Kingston K9CXF2-MIE.
I am also running Window 11.
The hang happens randomly but it sometimes happens after at least 2-4 hours of usage and sometimes it can do almost a full day before it hang.
The BIOS I am running is 2.10.0.
Hope someone can help troubleshoot this issue if it's possible to even fix it.
Thanks.

If you are using both the original Kingston memory and the new Crucial memory, that can be the problem. We have seen a lot of memory problems when memory is mixed. Best to only have one brand and all the same part number.
If this is the case, remove either the Kingston or Crucial and then see if it runs without errors.

@akanelee I suggest you download and run a memory test program such as Memtest86 to determine if your RAM is actually the problem. Since Memtest86 boots from a USB flash drive, it not only tests your RAM but eliminates any OS/driver/app issues that may be the problem.
