@Christian Otzipka  You're not alone.  I'd suggest reading this thread to see what others have done about it.

What I don;t see int hat thread is a reference to the processor type. It's nopt clear to me that this problem exists across the 8940 spectrum for anything other than those with i9 processors. Can somneone confirm this. I was hoping to get an 8940 during the summer sale which is about to end, but seeing these comments put me off, and I am curious if this is truly across the spectrum or only with those using i9 processors.

i7 cpus run quite warm too.  My 11700 would hit 100+C and throttle at times running FS2020.  Stress tests would drive it to 100 and throttling in seconds.

Replaced the pancake cooler (which I think would have been enough), beefed up the rear case fan, and added a front case fan.  I can’t make the CPU throttle anymore.

(Next up, getting the Asus RTX 2060 to run a little cooler. But it’s not nearly as urgent an issue.)

Mine  throttles down too, I assume you have the non "k" processor that comes with the stock intel pancake cooler. I Blame Intel for this, just as much as dell for using it. If you search you will find some good upgrade ideas. However while I am waiting for parts (Fans and Cooler) I tried to help what was already there.  2 fairly poor 80 cm fans. (Exhaust and Cpu). They never seemed to spin up under load  and there is no way provided to adjust them. After Some searching I found software that lets me turn them up too 100% before I launch a game (App). And have not had a throttle down occur since. In fact it is rare to break into the 90c range. If I didn't have new fans in the mail, I might worry about over taxing the fans....

@Knites You're really not going to give the name of the software? What's the point in even mentioning it?
