Yellow blinking power button

XPS8930. Purchased early 2019. Lost audio, tried control panel and other obvious remedies and ended up rebooting. Upon start up got a funny (non-windows) screen saying that update or repair needed to be made and don't turn off the machine!

I may have panicked thinking I was hacked so I unplugged computer. Current status is when pushing power button I get a blue light for about 8 seconds before it starts flashing yellow in 3 flash bursts. No signal to monitor.

Do you happen to know what version of the BIOS was on your computer? This is only a guess, but if your BIOS version was earlier than 1.1.15, it is possible that your PC was in the middle of a BIOS update when you unplugged your computer. If your computer was in the process of a BIOS update, the BIOS may have been corrupted by interrupting it. Now the 3 flashes indicate a system board or chipset error.

I just thought you might happen to know the BIOS version. I was thinking if you knew what version you had and that if it was 1.1.15, then we could rule out that your computer may have been performing a BIOS update. If you have never updated the BIOS or if you have SupportAssist installed and it never updated the BIOS, it is likely the version is 1.1.8 (released 31 July 2019). The next version after that was 1.1.10 which was released on 25 November 2019.
