Bad performance XPS 9550 i7

Question

Since 2 weeks the performance of my XPS 9550 i7 is very bad. Userbenchmark reports the performance as 'PC Performing way below expectations (5th percentile)'. I reinstalled Windows, updated firmware and drivers but performance is till poor.  Some googling leads to a first impresion that my motherboard is broken, due to soldering issues. Unfortunately I am out of warranty. What's your suggestion to solve the issue?

If the system has never had a thorough cleanout internally - including replacing the thermal paste on the GPU and GPU, that's in order.
