Battery life

Question

Hello! During the summer I've been using my Dell XPS 15 9570 with i7, gtx 1050 Ti a bit less than during the semesters, seeing as I am a student. However I have noticed that the battery life has decreased a lot in the last few weeks. I could usually get about 8 hours running Chrome and a few other lighter programs. Now I am only able to get about 2 hours of work done before the computers battery runs dry. I have also noticed that the CPU and GPU gets quite hot. According to CPUID the CPU is usually running at between 65-80 degrees Celsius, sometime reaching 100 degrees. And the GPU at about 60-65, sometimes reaching 80. I have ran f-secure virus scan and windows defender and neither find anything suspicious. According to task manager, I have not apps with power trends higher than low. I am using Dell automatic power plan and am using the optimized setting for thermal setting in dell thermal management. I am at a loss of what to do, at this rate I the laptop wont get me through a day at collage. All help appreciated.

2. Is the Windows OS optimized for using as little battery as possible?

3. Check the battery performance under heavy load on the battery?

CPUID claims a wear level of 22% Changing power mode to battery saver gives me almost no extra estimated remaining battery life.
