Cannot uninstall Realtek I2S Audio Software

Hi,

I'm on a Dell XPS 13 9343. My audio is constantly having issues with intermittent & random hissing, popping, and crackling that comes and goes throughout the video. This happens on YouTube in my browser as well as when I'm viewing downloaded video files (I've tried multiple players and multiple codec packs, but this hasn't solved it).

So, I decided to uninstall my Realtek I2S Audio Driver. On many occasions in the past I've just gone into device manager, uninstalled the Realtek audio drivers and picked the option "delete related drivers", but when it reboots it comes back up with my audio already reinstalled. This time, I went into the Control Panel and choose to uninstall Realtek I2S Audio. However, the uninstaller starts running and gets towards the end and just sits there and never completes the uninstall. The drivers I'm using are version 6.4.10041.127, A01 released in 2015 (yikes!). I noticed the Windows 8 drivers were last updated in 2019 so I was going to try and install them just to see if there was some improvement.

But, as of right now, I can't do a fresh uninstall/reinstall of the drivers because they won't uninstall properly. On the last uninstall attempt, I just rebooted and then reinstalled the old drivers and it worked fine, but they just won't uninstall fully.

Is there an uninstall tool for drivers or some registry keys or %appdata% folders I can delete to manually remove it?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Jon
