Critical request: allow hybernate option in BIOS
I am starting this new thread since I see no other option to press for this critical request.
This problem -- the lack of hybernation, or "zero power loss sleep mode" -- in the XPS 13 9310, and probably in other recent Dell models -- makes the machine crippled, and renders it of questionable value as a work machine.
De facto, every night (or before a few hours in a closed bag) the machine needs to be turned off. And then on again, with password login, when it is time to work.
(Even at "off" there is a small power loss, about 1% battery load per 12 hours. This is a silly fact, yet not critical.)
At home, if left in an open space, the machine can also be "put to sleep" while connected to a power source. It heats up a lot (while doing nothing of any user value), so without proper ventilation it will probably cook itself to death.
See items 4 and 8 in my pdf
Maybe a cry from enough users will wake Dell Corp from its sleep (or is it hybernation?).

What is your proposed solution?
Note: There does not exist a menu item called "Hibernation" anywhere in my OS (UBUNTU 20.04) nor in BIOS (v 2.2.0).

A few weeks ago my machine crashed a second time.
I tried something new: instead of installing UBUNTU 20.04 again, and then installing a KDE desktop on top of it, I installed KUBUNTU 21.04 directly.
Since then I am enjoying good stability in my machine.
The power loss during sleep is quite small (about 5-6 % of the battery overnight).
I do not have a working fingerprint reader (the OS does not recognize this devoce at all).
To summarize the requests:
1) Still waiting for a deep sleep option in BIOS.
2) Still wating for KUBUNTU to recognize and use the FP device for logging in.
