Dell XPS 15 9530 webcam continuously failing

Hi, the build in webcam on my XPS 15 9530 running Windows 10 disconnects every few seconds. In the camera app I get a working image, but after a few seconds an error message;

We can't find your camera
0xA00F4244

After with camera reconnects and the same pattern keeps repeating. Skype and Zoom start with working video, but after a few seconds they also loose connection, but do not recover from this error.

Out of pure frustration I reinstalled Windows 10, but that did not help.

Any ideas? Hardware broken?

Thank you for your message. This seems to be an issue with the physical camera & could be caused by a loose contact or faulty hardware.

 

Open Dell Support Assist, click on Troubleshoot tab- click on run test on a specific piece of hardware- select camera & run test.

 

If the Camera test is initiated but fails with the same error, the hardware will need a replacement.

 

For my reference, please click on the message tab next to your avatar– click “New Message” & search for my Dell username (Sreejith R) & send a private message with the service tag, registered name & email address.
