Dell-XPS-15-9560-additional-Harddisk
HI All,
I have a dell XPS 9560 which came with the smaller battery and has space to add additional drive. It came with 256 GB M.2 PCIe SSD. I searched the forum and found that there are people who have added another SSD in the available slot.
What i could not find are -
1. Any input on performance. Does adding the additional drive has any imhe pact on performance of the existing M.2 PCIe SSD or the new SATA SSD that i plan to add ?
2. Is there any BIOS change or any system change that needs to be done post adding the new drive. OR all i have to do is install the new drive, boot the system, format the drive and I am good to go
3. The drive that i plan to add is https://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-SSD-860-EVO-2-5-SATA-III-1TB-MZ-76E1T0B-AM-Brand-New-Free-Ship/123734397626?epid=19026660007&hash=item1ccf2512ba:g:tOAAAOSw4xlcsk6D
Appreciate any inputs on the subject

Thanks much for your reply. Yes, i plan to use the additional SSD as additional storage only.
Good to know that there would not be much impact on speed.
Am i also right in assuming that there would be no impact on the current read/write speed of the M.2 existing storage. I was wondering if the new drive takes up bandwidth from the existing M.2 storage ?
Thanks!
