Its a third party battery however when i look at it through power command its recognised as a dell battery , i was thinking about returning the battery however the t&cs state that the batteries will be tested before any refund is given , if battery is found to be OK the battery will be returned to me

The battery is faulty. Contact your supplier to have it replaced.

The battery in question, is it a Dell OEM or third party battery???
If it is a third party battery you may want to just return it for refund.
OEM's are usually more expensive but can be worth the extra money.
