Disabling inbuilt LCD (using external monitor)
Hello,
I have a Dell XPS l501x.
I have broken more than a half of the inbuilt LCD. I can use a external monitor without problem.
But I want to remove the inbuilt LCD in order to use only the external one (space saving and use the laptop as a keyboard)
The problem I faced is that if I disconnect the display cable (ribbon type) that connects to the LCD, I get the 8 beeps error. How stop the POST check test of the screen? Can I disabled it?
If not, what should I keep of the inbuilt LCD to pass the POST check test?
Thanks in advance

You cannot disable the self test. I would leave well enough alone as attempting to disable the screen may create a problem that would render the system without a display on the laptop or external.
