@mike010101  It depends on the display.  The specific display you linked is a hybrid display that supports USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode (native GPU output) as well as DisplayLink, as long as the DisplayLink software is installed.  I have an ASUS MB16AC myself, and while it's handy to have support for both (native USB-C is nice when dealing with systems where you're not allowed to install software), one quirk on systems that have DisplayLink installed and also support native USB-C output is that the display is detected in Windows as two separate displays, which means it's possible for your cursor to get lost on the secondary "instance" of that display that you're not even seeing.  But as long as you watch out for that or manually set the unused instance of the display to "Disconnect this display" in Windows Display Settings, you should be fine.  Or if you connect it through USB-A, then you'll only see one instance of the display.

Alternatively, if you want full-sized displays instead, you can get DisplayLink dongles that plug into a USB-A port and give you a DisplayPort or HDMI output.  Those use the same technology and therefore require the DisplayLink software, but that way you can connect desktop-size displays if you prefer.
