I just haven't been able to get my hands on a wired mouse. I will get one and try it and update here. I have been using a bluetooth mouse and it is working fine (as one would expect).

The mouse does seem to work fine when using a wired connection to the monitor. It's odd that the wireless mouse struggled so much, even when I was within inches of the receiver. I have purchased a bluetooth mouse to move past this issue. Thanks for the help!
